Liz - i just wanted to tell you abit more about our situation..... When we took Cody out of her first day care she was only just 3 (the teachers said maybe she isnt ready and is still very young).. even tho she is only 3.5 now we noticed a huge change in her (before going to pre-school) like she had grown up so much in that 5 months... i think if we kept pressing her to go to her old daycare she wouldnt have came around and probably hated it even more
Your little man is still very young hun... so maybe he isnt ready yet?... Tho he could love his new pre-school
I really hope it works out for you guys..... its so heartbreking seeing your little ones so upset and all they want are there mummies

    OK, update!

Last Monday he did a LOT better. Cried his little heart out when I left, but settled down after a while, and played quite well. So definitely an improvement. I picked him up after sleep time, as I drilled it into him that that was when I would pick him up. I think they were telling him before that mummy would be back soon, and so he was spending all day waiting for me iykwim.

I had a chat to his teacher about the offer of 2 days at the other preschool. She said if it was her, she'd take it, that 2 days is great, and that the 2-day kids behave differently as well. Because they know they don't have to squeeze all the fun into that one day, so they spend more time at each activity etc.

I felt kinda mean to them pulling him out actually LOL, but they were really good about it actually. I'm glad I chatted to them rather than just pulling him out. Coz I wanted to make it clear that I wasn't pulling him out because he was upset, but because we'd had an offer at the place we originally wanted him to go, which I totally didn't expect so soon. So anyway, we've given 2 weeks notice, so 2 more mondays at the original preschool, and then on the 23rd we start the new preschool at 2 days a week! Tallon reckons he won't cry at the new preschool LOL and he's very excited about the lunch box they gave him. hehe.

So thank you everyone for your help & advice. It was actually a pretty tough decision, I felt very torn. I'm still a bit nervous about 2 days, but we'll just play it by ear and see how he goes. He keeps asking if he's going to school today (every day!) so I know he doesn't hate school itself, just hates me leaving him, poor little man.
