How do you get around this? Surely i'm not the only one in this situation.
We don't have any family where we live and no close to us that have kids so obviously no car seats.
So when it comes to putting an emergency contact on the childcare forms I thought about it. WHat happens if they can't get in contact with us and then they call the emergency contact. How will they get our car seats to pick up our kids?
Does anyone else have a similar issues, how do you get around it? Both DH and I are pretty easily contactable, but in the event we can't be, then really its a crap situation.
I've thought about this too but work on the assumption that if an emergency contact had to get DD then we wouldn't bee too far behind them getting there and they might have to occupy her for 1/2 hour or something in the car park. And if it is any kind of medical emergency then they can call an ambulance.
I'm told the most common need to use emergency contacts is late pickup so not really a huge drama.
I actually had convo last year with CC as all my contacts either A have no car seats or B have own kids and would be using car seat or C live long way away and no car seat. They said to me its more if child becomes unwell and someone can sit with them until you get there or could in a real pickle use a taxi home.
They said most have same issues and if was a medical emergency would call ambulance anyway.
