Well DS started daycare today at the centre we have been on the waiting list for. We were able to get one day and with the possibility of two in the future. I stayed for 2 hours in the morn to settle him and one hour in the afternoon before we went home.
Well there were 'dont let me go' hugs as well as tantrums, tears and hitting.
The 'dont let me go' hugs were for his new carer while the tantrums, tears and hitting were for me when I picked him up. He enjoyed it so much there (thats a woo hoo!) that he didnt even blink when I showed up in the afternoon and threw the biggest tantrum ever when we left. I think everyone in the centre could hear him. Plus I got the evil eye and lots of hits. I have never seen him in such a state. I just felt like crying
But at least we were really happy with the centre. lol
Well, at least he enjoyed it! I do know how you feel, DS1 was fine from his very first day at day care and that made me sad. But then it is still better than having them cry when you leave. You just can't win as a mum! I am sure that he really was very happy to see you hun.
Thanks guys. He did used to go to daycare but hasnt been for about 3 months as we couldnt get him in where we liked. He never cried when I left but was always happy to see me before. This time it was totally different. Ahhh parenting is so thankless isnt it? But I am happy he loves it there.

First day at new centre - boo hoo!
Well, at least he enjoyed it! I do know how you feel, DS1 was fine from his very first day at day care and that made me sad. But then it is still better than having them cry when you leave. You just can't win as a mum! I am sure that he really was very happy to see you hun.
