    Frankston area peeps - help??

Hi, I might be going to study next year and I need an idea of if there are any centres within walking distance of Monash, Penisula Campus. I will probably be walking from Frankston station to the uni so I am totally stuck with what to do as all i can find on the uni website is that their centre is closing down end 2010.

I dont know if I can keep him enrolled here as my hubby works irregular hours on a rotating 7am-11pm roster so he wont always be able to drop off/pick up - i would have to P/T to do so and on my potential wednesdays i won't get home until 8pm.

Sorry i think this was a bit of a frustrated vent too, but any help is appreciated until i can get down there for a drive!

Only ever driven past, so no idea on the actual center, but not too out of your way (it's a decent walk from the station to Monash), is one called Amaroo. there is also one not far from Kananook station, the one just before Frankston. You could drop him and then catch the next train.

Just looking on a map, there is one behind the uni, at Jubilee park, you'd have to walk past the uni and out the back about 800m-ish. Jubilee Park Child care it's called.

Or you could move to Frankston?!

we thought about moving but had to get out of where we were asap, so have just started a new 12 months lease :-(. didnt want to risk it in case i didnt get in and then be away from family and work as well.

Well that sux. Could they be closed for Chrissy? I have definitely seen a childcare centre where that Amaroo is supposed to be.

Have you rung Monash and asked them. Maybe talk to the childcare centre at the uni.

There are buses that go form the Station to the Uni, it is a long walk.
Bruce Park Pre School- it is on Margate Avenue, just past Heatherhill Road, so past the uni a little way.
Or there is Frankston preschool centre, which is on Joy street, between the Station and the Cemetary, so on your way.

How old is DS now? Have a look for places that do 3 year old kinder, not just day cares, if he is turning 3 (if he isn't already)

Limey is that one on Joy street next to the mchn? (i thought that was a special needs school?! not sure why) That is definitely on your way, only 5 mins from the station. I walk from the station to JB highfi and that's a little over half way, it take less than 10 min. So i'd say 20 min to the uni..... But there are shuttle buses.

Not sure JM? Only seen it, never been in it or anything... I just can't remember how old her DS is, so not sure if Kinder/Pre school works... but better than a daycare if he is old enough!
