M - in Vic, very few schools incorporate kinder, even private ones. Some do and they start at ELC - daycare, kinder, prep (pre-primary) then grade 1

But most kinder is either private or council run and seperate from school.
In our council area, you enrol for the year before you go in to prep - cut off is April 30 so kids ar 3.5-4.5 but you cant actually start until you turn 4 so some kids are enrolled and go from day 1, and others go from the day they turn 4.
