Labelling clothes for child with sensitive skin?

Hello,
My DS has sensitive skin and gets easily irritated. I am thinking of what will be the best way to label his clothes, iron on stuff which I think may irritate his skin or with a pen. I know that the pen irritated his skin in the past. Any ideas? Thanks

if he has a short name you could sew/embroider it on. a long name might be painful if you have to do it many times

Instead of putting his name on/around the tag for say a jumper or t-shirt - what about putting it along the hem (inside), so that is rubs on his clothes, not on his skin... Not sure what to suggest for jocks or pants/shorts etc...

I was going to suggest the same as RhiChiChi, writing it on the inside of the hem at the bottom of the clothes. That's what I do as my boy is irritated by the tags on clothes.
