    new name/term for 'working bee'

we have a large kinder community (im in victorai) around 180 families...we offer 4 different programs hence the size
we have issues with attendance at working bees due to the general consensus that 'others will do it' mainly due to our size.
so i was wondering if changing the name of the humble working bee may entice more to attend without the hardwork stigma attached! (and there is no hard work...its a kinder for goodness sake )

    Our kinder had this issue.
In the end they decided to charge each family a $15 maintenance fee instead of having the working bee.

Our volunteer run playcentre charges $25 extra on the annual fees that you get back once you attend the working bee and at the beginning of the year you have to nominate which bee you'll be attending, then near the time you get a reminder email to check you'll still be attending.

Our preschool has fortnightly grounds roster which every family is allocated a weekend and you go and mow the lawns, rake leaves etc. You can pay $40 to opt out if you want to. Your preschool could have a few families per shift.

Our kinder also has a roster system. Each family only needs to attend once per year and are given an allocated job to do. My dh did our rostered time by himself and it took him an hour. The system works well and the kinder looks great!

Our kinder did the same but it was a $50 fee. The fee was paid at the beginning of the year and was refunded if we did 1 working bee per year and 1 day of kinder duty per term.
