need care for one day ????

does anyone know where I could organise care for one day for a 10mnth old??? I think I got a job and induction will be on Monday 8.30 - 4.30 problem is I haven anyone to look after Cooper. DH cant get the day off as they had 2 drivers quit this week, He is going through a clingy stage and wont go to anyone but I thought of asking my best freind, but she has a newborn and does the school run, My mum said she would take a sickie but is about 40mins away and starts college at 4pm that day and is her first day so cant miss it but I wont be finished in time, My other option is ask lady up the road to have him until BF does the school run then get her to have him till about 1.30 when DH gets home, but only want to ask her as a last resort, does anyone know where I could get 1 day care for him.

Occasional day care centre if they have room on that day might work.

Yeah I would ring the Day care centre and check, if you do leave him in the centre just make sure you apply for the child care rebate before you take him, si it won't cost you as much.

You local council website will most likely have a list of child care options in your area- including occasional care. Good luck!

YWCA might be able to give you a lead, otherwise you could advertise privately. Worst comes to worst, you might be able to call a service, like dial and angel or similar.

Pity you don't live close to me, I'm always looking after children when other mums get stuck! I'm sure there would be a few of us in you neighbourhood.
