Occasional Care Options...

I have no idea about child care or family day care but I was talking to my sister today and she suggested I find somewhere nearby for Izzy just in case she or my mum get really sick and the other has to work in my sisters shop, which eans they wont be able to look after Izzy while Im at work. (Complicated sorry)

Anyway, just wondering what my options are - do child care places do occasional care on the spur of the moment - I would need to book her in on the day or possibly the night before? Is that even possible?

Some child care centres will claim to offer occasional care... if you are registered they may let you have a place on the day if it free. The likelihood is slim though as they are generally full with permanent bookings- but it's worth looking into as you may have somewhere near you that often has some spare spaces. Otherwise there are occasional care centres that offer part day care at say a weeks notice (they would probably be booked out on the day). You should be able to find a list of what's in your area on your local council website.
I think emergency care could also be arranged through a nanny agency where you pay for someone to come to your house- it would be pretty pricey though.
