I'm working from home (and realising what a good thing it is to have limited internet access at work) because DS1 has a temperature. He'd probably be fine at childcare, he has no other symptoms, but I couldn't in good concience send him in case he's infectious. Now he probably caught it at childcare, but to me it would be wrong to spread it & cause other parents to have the night's sleep (or awake) that we had last night.
My boys go in play clothes, DS2's shirt today has the hem unstitched and paint stains, but his mummy is lazy.
I have this internal argument with myself all the time. DS2 it seems is almost constantly sick, with my favourite "viral" infections.
No antibiotics, nothing you can do but let it run its course. Im happy to do this and at home if needs be but then I think why should I pay my fees to keep him home when he is not infectious not going to pass it on to anyone else?
The good mother in me thinks hes miserable and needs to be home and on these days he stays home.
But what about the bark that sounds so much worse than it is can go on for weeks let alone days? Doctors appt a plenty but yet no infection again its a run its course kinda thing. This is when I think bugger it and send him. I know that it sounds absolutely horrible but thats all it is noise. Another mother who hears him though most probably will think "bad mother, keep him home he is sick"
So where do you draw the line??
