Starting daycare in May, is it a bad time of year to start?

I've finally worked out what I am doing! DS will be 2 at the end of April and I am starting him in daycare then. I'm worried being the start of winter that he will get all of the winter bugs. Does this happen anyway even if they start in summer or will it be worse starting in May? Thanks - I'm just a very worried mummy!

Olivia started in April.......and caught every bug known to man.

Charlie started in August and caught every bug known to man.

Lexie started in Novemember and caught every bug known to man.

I honestly don't think it will make much difference.......

I reckon you just have to expect them to get sick regardless of when you start them.

I think it doesn't really make much difference when kids start daycare. They will catch whatever is going around and there is always something. To minimise this, you need to ensure the daycare has a very high standard of cleanliness and check their health regulations (i.e. if a child has an illness, how long do they have to stay away from daycare to prevent passing it on) etc.

I should add, Olivia is now 4 and has not had one sniffle or cold or bug or illness in over a year........she started kindy 2 terms ago and has caught nothing from there either.....and is a healthy little thing with a wonderful immunity....so I am kind of glad now that we got over all the snot between the ages of 1 and 2.......

Matilda still gets it every winter. At least 2 bugs. This year has been bad, last year wasn't.... but the first autumn/winter for both girls has been bad. I mean colds after colds, through in some croup and tonsilitis and thats us you get accustomed to what you have to do.
