MG...Thanks darl, i'm happy for my son to go to one of our other local centres (abc) as they are all new centres it is for this reason that i dont think ours will close but their is a chance it will as it is on a leased premise.

A guy at work's DP is at an ABC centre as a teacher and they have been told they will be paid into next year and should be OK but everyone has lost any leave or holiday pay they had accrued.

I had a quick look at the list - funny, it seems the ones tat are staying open are (majority) in the areas where they charge more.

I really feel for everyone affected by this, and for the workers to loose their entitlements....

ohh i got news from my centre this morning

Mine is a defence one.. so is being assessed differently.. they are looking into the government/defence force actually buying these centres out.

we were told that we will know the outcome next week..

but in saying that as I donw work for defence, i wonder if i will be able to keep my spots? I was always told that defence had first prefernce so i am cool with that but being as we have been now using the centre for 2 years...

Fingers crossed for you Ness. I had heard Defence WAS buying the centres back (they used to own them) but I guess they're still nutting it out. Gingers crossed you get to stay!!!

Westy, my daughter goes to the centre in Eltham. Apparently we're the only centre in our region (don't know how big they region is or how they divide them) staying open so far... so we're prepared for a huge influx and massive waiting list for new families.

Those 'under operational review' are on this list:

Fingers crossed they manage to find someone to keep as many open as possible...
