My youngest son had sepsis (the same type of infection as Strep B) when he was 11 days old and also ended up on CPAP in NICU. I don't remember that time well, it is all a painful blur TBH. I wish your sister and you strength, I hope bub pulls through this. My boy is now a happy health 22 month old.

If you can't be with your sister can you help her with any other children? Maybe cook fresh meals so when she comes home she has the chance to eat?

    best wishes to you all

    Just an update.

My brave little niece ended up being ventilated before being airlifted and underwent openheart surgery on Monday afternoon. She is a real little fighter and started breathing on her own last night. My sister finally got a cuddle last night after 4days. She has now had all tubes removed except a nasal gastric tube. She had a couple of breastfeeds today and is moving ahead in leaps and bounds. To think she had open heart surgery only 48hrs ago is amazing.

I would like to thank you all for your support and kind words during this tough time. All your positive thoughts have certainly helped my niece and her family through this. I can't express how much the support has helped.
