Was she vomiting when she had the cold? She could have scarred her esophagus.

My friend's 4yo DD had an annoying, lingering cough a couple of months ago. She ended up taking her to the GP although the cough wasn't bad at all and didn't seem to be bothering her DD too much. The GP tested her for whooping cough and wouldn't you know it, the tests came back positive. My friend was floored as her DD had been vaccinated and she thought whooping cough symptoms would be a lot worse. Apparently the strain her DD had was actually really bad but she didn't suffer much due to being vaccinated.

    Something worth considering?

ETA: forgot some remedies! Baby Balsam on chest, back and soles of feet plus a vapouriser in her room. DD was prescribed Demazin at 12 months for a terrible cough that was making her vomit. It did help.

A little bit of honey, too sooth the throat (Although unsure when kids are ment to have honey.
    Vaporiser in her room
close the house up early to keeo it warm
    sock on her feet
if it gets into a coughing fit - go into a steamed bathroom (Only a few mins at a time)
    Plenty of fluids
euky bear rub on the chest and feet
raise the head of her bed

Ummm - Thats all i have...

One more thing, If the cough has been lingering for a while, I would get it checked out by the Doctor, HTH!
