I was like that as a teenager and early adult and would get people ask me if I was anorexic, so rude. People should mind there business. I had one woman once poke my bones at top rib cage!
It is SO RUDE when peopel think it's their business, especially when they wouldn't dare to comment "is she obese?!?!" if she were overweight. Why do people find 'too thin' ok to comment on but 'overwight' is taboo?
People with CP often need more food because their muscles just use up so much energy. If you and your daughter are happy that she is happy and healthy, that's all that matters. Try to let their comments flow off you.
It's tough, isn't it? If it isn't stares or comments about their behaviour, then people have to find something other to comment about.
Just smile and let it go. They haven't walked in your shoes, and they won't understand. As long as you know what you're doing is right, the opinion of the "man in the street" is unimportant.
Thanks guys.
I think if it was just some stranger it wouldn't bother me but it is someone I consider family who is saying it. I have been thinking about it today and I think I have realised she is being picky about a lot of things lately, especially when it comes to my little miss. I appreciate her opinion and her support but I dont need her shoving her opinions down my throat.
Might need to take some time out for a little while I am thinking.
