    Awful cough

I have an appointment for DD in an hour... Just wondering what others think.

She has had what seems like a sore throat and cold for about a week, then on Thursday she started coughing. She has been sleeping more and doest want to play...

On Friday night she started vomiting after every coughing Fit. We took her to the dr on Sunday and he gave her some antibiotics and said it was viral (isn't viral where antibiotics DON'T help???)

She is still coughing so bad it makes her vomit and she seems to struggle to breath just before and after the coughing fit. We give her two puffs of the ventolin he gave her and it seems to help but I can't really tell.

What is weird is between the coughing fits she seems fine? She is not as bright as usual but she is still interacting and joining in iykwim?

Oh and she also hasn't eaten since Friday, except when I managed to convince her to eat some chips (I figure she needs something to throw up??)

I am not being over the top am I?? If antibiotics where going to help they would have by now right??

My DS1 had something similar about a month ago. He wouldn't eat, barely spoke and just laid on the cough for cuddles all day. He ended up developing pneumonia and started antibiotics. It took about 3 days to see a significant change in how he felt. The cough did continue for a few weeks though. Good idea to visit the doc again though. Good luck

DD1 had a similar cough start around May it ended up taking her 3 months to fully recover from it.

I agree with taking her back to Drs to you find something that helps her.

Sorry Tiah has been feeling so sick, poor love. I'd take her back to the docs hun, I'd be worried that she hasn't eaten since Friday She could also be dehydrated..Hope she gets and feels better soon xoxo

    Thanks ladies!

The Dr checked and her lungs sound clear, she does seem to have mild ear infection though so that wouldn't be helping

We are continuing with antibiotics and the usual steam and stuff

Convinced her to eat dinner, I had to hold her hand the entire time but she got through a bowl of pasta so I am happy

It us just so hard hearing little ones cough. I panic every time, it just sounds so painful
