DD has just gotten over a cough that lasted 4 weeks. She's still a little wheezy and coughing randomly but she's definitely on the mend. We've had 3 trips to the GP (I was really sick with an awful cough too) and they tried treating her for croup, which didn't do much, and we were both tested for whooping cough, which was negative. Looks like it was just an awful virus in the end.

A chat with your GP would be a good idea though to get her lungs checked. DD's were clear each time despite sounding chesty. They did suggest trying ventolin but she was getting better by that point so I didn't bother.

A vapouriser in her room at night helped a bit and so did Baby Balsam on her chest, back and soles of her feet.

I hope your DD is better soon. I know how worrying it is There does seem to be some really awful bugs getting around this season.

I would take her to the GP. Croup has been going around and is much worse at night. You wouldn't even think they are sick during the day. One time when my son had croup it didn't have the really barking distinct sound to it either so I left it for over a week. It just hung around.
If it is something else then a vapouriser and chest rub should help a bit with her sleeping.

Hope you sort it out soon, listening to your little ones coughing is awful!
