interesting hun, get it checked, its a simple test and anything over 11 is classed as a diagnosis.

i dont know how much u know about T1D(type one diabetes) but basically those who have it, their pancreas make virtually NO insulin at all. so if that was the case with ur DD, she'd be constantly running high and not needing to eat to boost her sugar levels IYKWIM?
basically, our bodies use sugar as energy, insulin that we produce acts as a little carry truck transprting the sugar into out blood cells. when theres no insulin in the case of T1D or little or not enough to cover our needs T2D then our bodies turn to our fat stores for energy. a byproduct of our bodies using our fat stores as energy is keytones, and keytones in our system leave us very very lethargic and if bad enough can put us in a coma.
FWIW a normal range for keytones is 0-.7. mine were 5.6 and i was fine, the doctors were highly suprised i wasnt passing out all the time

symptom wise for me, which is common in all prediagnosed T1D's were, massive weight loss over a short period of time, reoccuring and incredibly hard to treat thrush (i had it for nearly 3 months stright, was awefull!) drinking like a fish, when i say like a fish, i could polish off a 2 litre bottle of soft drink in 2 hours without thinking about it. i was up many many times a night to go to the loo and get to get a drink, quite often it would be 5-6 large glasses. constantly craving sugary things, and because i was on the toilet so often i was incredibly dehydrated and i would literally avoid talking because i had no moisture in my mouth at all and my tongue would stick to the top of my mouth and i'd look completely stupid when i spoke!! which i also thought was oral thrush.

if she has sores that arent healing in a time space that u think is normal then thats another sign of T1d.

honestly i'd be suprised if she does have it going off what you have described, but im not a doctor and to put ur mind at is go to ur gp tomorrow just to rule it out.
