    The dreaded pox!!!!

    Help! My DS who is 6 months old has just been diagnosed with chicken pox - seems okay so far but temp slightly high tonight and pox are spreading -

    Plz give me any helpful tips and hints to help us thru the next week or so!

    Just come out the other end with my 6 month old so I feel your pain. What we did was panadol, pinetarsal baths, calamine lotion and socks on his hands to stop him from scratching. He wanted lots and lots of cuddles and was really quite grizzly.

    Sorry can't help with any suggestions. The last time we had pox at our house was when DH got it at 35 years of age and somehow our 6 month old didn't catch it.
    Hopefully now that the spots are there, it won't be too long before he gets better. Isn't it something like up to two weeks before spots that they're brewing it? Poor thing.

    Solosite gel is good to soothe spots, my gp said calamine dries them out to much and can lead to scarring...
