My 4th DS has inguinal hernia's on both sides. The first was repaired at 12 months (smack on, day after his birthday), He also had his testi pinned down also.
I hate to say it but it really was a traumatic event for him. It took a long time for him to be comfortable going into a clinical environment. On the day I opted for a later start as I had a 2 hour travel to get there & thought it was the better option, but it meant our 10am slot didn't happen till closer to 1pm & he had to be fasted also. Getting him to fall asleep with out the boob was so hard on him. In hind sight I should have just fed him but at the time no one could tell me when he would go in.

The 2nd surgery at 18 months was a bit easier as I sucked up the early start & was first up.

Surgery wise he was fine, recovery he was fine, the wounds healed fine & I can't even see a scar with out really looking for it.

But yeah hate to say it, it was hard for him. I would think at 6 months it may be easier so fingers crossed he get seen too ASAP
