Back from the hospital take 3.
They are satisfied that it's a bacterial infection of the lymph nodes, which is probably the best outcome available, and the simplest to treat, so we've been discharged with prescriptions and instructions.
We're all going to have 2 nights worth of sleep now.
The pharmacy still hasn't been able to give us the rest of the antibiotics, because when they tried to order more they learned that their supplier doesn't stock it any longer. So they're trying some other pharmacies, and will get back to us today or tomorrow.
We have enough for today, so we're not going to fuss.
We're just going to sleep.
Thanks so much ladies for all your good wishes and prayers.
NB: the paed we saw today (who was really, really lovely) said that these are actually incredibly common and are not worth worrying about - absolutely worth checking up to confirm that's what it is, but they're a stock standard thing, and the most harm they usually do is to parent who see it and immediately think "tumour"... so she's told us what to watch for, what to do, what would occasion a return visit, and when it should start shrinking, and when it should be gone.
So if your kid gets one, by all means take them to the paed or the ED, but breathe while you do.![]()
