I think it is fairly normal. DS had very soft finger nails when he was born. Some ppl reccommend biting rather than clipping babies fingernails

Perfectly normal hun. They are really soft at first and yeah, it's best to avoid using scissors or clippers when they are so little so just bite them, or if that turns you off LOL, you should be able to just pull the bits that are starting to come off anyway. They can get a bit flakey and break anyway so just gently pull it off.

    Sweet thanks!!

I it seems like I am concerned about every tiny little thing, she sneezes and I'm in knots.

A friend of mine recommended biting them too - so I might just try that.

    THanks for the advice!

Please don't be afraid to ask questions we were all first time mums once who weren't real sure if something was normal or not. So if you have any more questions, just ask them, no one will think you are silly for it.

My DDs toenails still do this and she is over 2 years old now

Freaked me out a little too when I first noticed! lol And I also got the 'bite don't clip' advice, works very well.
