We spent 4 hours in hospital earlier on tonight.

My son spiked a temp of 40 and was constantly drifting in and out of sleep. Scared the heck out of me. I was shaking and a nervous wreck..

He ended up having to have panadol as a suppository because he wouldn't swallow the oral medication.

Very scarey and hope he gets well soon! We're up (3am) with another temp so just waiting for it to go down again so we can sleep.

He only has a few dots on his hands and feet... will it get worse before it gets better?

not sure, but it sounds awful.

My nephew had it earlier this year and it was horrible for the whole family.

Are you sure it's hand foot and mouth? Whenever our girls have had such high temps they get a nasty heat rash. Either way sounds like you have had a rough night, hope your little one is better soon.

Thats what the doctor said at the hospital..

it depends on the severity if it'll get any worse, my ds has had it twice, and both times he's been admitted to hospital, coovered in the rash (included on and inside his penis). make sure you keep up his fluids, maybe get some hydralyte or something. good luck
