Hard wax in toddler's ears

I agree. Warm olive oil can be very helpful. The wax will soften and probably come out on its own.
Also just to state the obvious do not poke anything in the ear to try to remove the wax

My doctor told me not to put anything in my DS's ear as he wasn't sure whether the ear drum had perforated due to the infection. Started on antibiotics on Wednesday afternoon for ear and chest infection. I also gave him dymadon and nurofen (alternately, four hours apart) to help with the pain and the fever. No fever now but DS has crunchy wax sitting in the outer ear. Will be taking him back to the doctor next week. Good luck with DD's earache. It's traumatic seeing them in pain!
