    Unhappy Hayfever

A few weeks back, when I took DD for her 18 month shot, I told my doctor that DD had a runny nose, and seemed to be coughing a lot at night time, and wasn't sure if it was something to be concerned about. He told me it sounds like it could be hayfever, he listened to her chest and said that her lungs/breathing sounds normal so he was certain she didnt have asthma. Suggested I give her some claratyne for kids and see how that goes. So I bought some for her, and it worked a treat, after 3 days I didn't need to give her any more.

Now about 2 weeks later, she has started getting a runny nose again, sneezing lots with lots of snot coming out when sneezing, you can tell her eyes are hayfeverish (runny, red, droopy) and she is coughing a lot at night again. This time the claratyne isn't doing anything for my poor little princess.

Does any one else have any suggestions/recommendations? (I'm going to my GP tomorrow to get my pregnancy confirmed and will without a doubt mention it to him again)

I give my DD Aerius syrup for Hayfever. How old is your DD?

Aerius can be used from 12 mths so look into that. I've found it works really well for DD and doesn't make ehr drowsy. Otherwise try Phenerghan.
