Yep, definitely lice. You can see the little blighters crawling around more easily than you can see the eggs sometimes depending on the colour of the hair - eggs are hard to find on DD's hair without actually combing through with conditioner or something.
Check/treat the whole family, then run pillowcases and hats in particular through a hot wash with a bit of eucalyptus oil and stick in the dryer on the hottest cycle you have. Or line dry but leave out there an extra few days. Repeat in a week.
I feel your pain. We've just finished treating ourselves after DD shared the last lot
I use tea tree oil in the girls spray bottle when i brush their hair aswell to help prevent nits, they are attracted to CLEAN hair, they can't cling to oily hair so the tea tree really works and smeels nice
My aunty used to also do a vinegar wash of her girls hair once every month or so
Thanks ladies! The lady at the chemist said not to go too crazy with washing because they don't live for long off the head, but I will do all the sheets/hats etc of course! I use Eucalytpus washing powder anyway. My head is SO itchy - I am a teacher so we deal with it all the time but it's different when you see them on your kids head
