BR, they didn't do an ultra sound and she said that because she felt certain that it was ok, that DD wouldn't need one.

It kind of bothered me. I'm going to push it when I get back I think.

Sue - it's so worth getting an xray - appletree is right, they prefer to do x rays on bubs over 6 months. Both my paed and MCHN did all the tests, pulled on her legs, measured the lenghts, etc and said it was fine, there were no signs at all. But the paed sent us for an ultrasound because he was thorough and both of DD's hips were dislocated, one was pretty much non existant. There are stories online of kids with hip dysplaysia and their journey begins with the GP saying there is nothing wrong, parent is being panicky about nothing and then twelve months later it is an enormous problem. Sorry if this makes you worry, but its better to have them checked sooner rather than have all of this going on when they are trying to walk. Hope you have a nice trip, maybe your UK doctor will have some advice.

PacRakMG, thanks so much, I'm definitely going to get a second opinion on this when I get back from the UK.
I am going to trust my instincts on this one!

    Thanks again
