I'm freaking out a little and i just need to post to get it out there.
Ds had a blood test (he had it as part of his autism diagnosis) and it came back with a low immuniglobin (IgM) level. It was rechecked because the Dr. thought it was probably a clinical mistake as ds looks happy and healthy. But the test has come back again as low IgM and now the dr. wants ds to see an immunologistI have been googling like crazy and when i type in 'low IgM' there are scary words like cancer and lukemia popping up. I know i shouldn't freak myself out but i'm really scared its something bad. There is a LOT of cancer in my family on both sides. My dad died of cancer and his mum (my nanna) died of lukemia. My mum had a brain tumor (not malignant thank God) and her mum (my gran) died from complications of liver cancer. So you can see why i'm scared
I guess i'm just wondering if there is anyone out there who knows someone or experienced low IgM and it turned out to be ok?? The dr.s receptionist is taking her time getting back to me, she's typing up the referal for the immunologist so i really don't know whats going on![]()
