Yep home from school. With my Dad. At least we just need to keep doing what we are doing in terms of infection control - have managed not to get any on either myself or DS2 for 10 days, so if we just keep it up we should be ok I think.

    It's just awful.

Sorry to hear it's impetigo, that's rotten. I had a really bad case when I was in high school, it should resolve pretty quickly once you're treating it. Would a soak in a warm salty bath help with dealing with the scabs?

The antibiotics are working wonderfully, and Betadine is his new friend lol. The warm salty bath definitely helps to get the scabs off. He's not so painful now, but the first time we had to try and get the scabs off.... well it took nearly an hour of him absolutely screaming, me in tears... knowing that I had to cause him pain to make him better. It was just awful.

It's a very bad case of impetigo which will probably need 2-3 weeks of antibiotics. I feel just awful, but so glad it's going to get better. WHat on earth did they do before antibiotics???
