I read somewhere that painting the fungus with clear nailpolish suffocates it somehow. (also creates a barrier to prevent spreading). So when I caught it a few years back, I used a combination of over the counter cream, tea tree oil, and clear nailpolish....
I wouldn't reccomend painting your kids or cats though lol.
Ok, well since this thread has drifted towards speculative internet cures (LOL) I read one account of a guy that had multiple chemical sensitivities who had ongoing issues with fungal infections. This guy cured himself basically through slathering natural yoghurt all over his body, leaving it on for a good 30-60 minutes, then washing it off. Did this every day for a couple of months and within a couple of months not only was the skin infection clearing up but the multiple sensivities symptoms got less and less. Eventually the fungal infections went away completely and so did the sensitivities! Ok, so not very practical, but I reckon worth a try in the shorter term (in addition to medical treatment) especially all-over as a preventative against new spots breaking out.
