Ok, just a little update on my DS. Success !

He has had 4 dirty nappies in the last 24hrs.
3 have been golf ball size poo's and then the most recent one was ginormous....

    Thankgoodness !

I have been giving him coloxyl for about a week then late yesterday I changed to brown sugar and water. Not sure which has helped or if it is a combination of both but I am leaning towards the brown sugar and water.
I am going to keep it up for a bit longer cause I am 100% positive that he has a massive backup of poop

Is there any harm in giving him the brown sugar and water for a few days ?
Also, does anyone know why it is that the brown sugar and water works ? Obviously something in the brown sugar but what ?

Mel - I really hope that K starts having decent dirty naps soon
P.s sorry to hijack your thread ! xo

Has anyone dealt with chronic constipation for over 12 months with little to no end in sight? If so I would really love to hear from you. We have tried a lot of what has been mentioned in this thread and have been on parachoc for over 12 months, no chance of weaning. Poos are still traumatic even though they are soft. Feeling very dishearted and so terribly heartbroken for my poor little one. I posted a little bit of information about our issues https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...nt-poo-167355/

    Glad to hear of success
I was going to say pear juice and coloxyl as well.
I'd put the coloxyl in the juice and hope she drinks it all
also if u can get her to lay on the floor or change table or something flat and pump her legs like she's riding a bike or just alternate 1 leg up other down and swap can help loosen things up I had to do it with my DD when she was a bub
