Stiff neck after some sort of insect (possible bee) bite?

Poor dude. What did the dr say? I've been stung by a bee once and there wasn't much of a reaction but it hurt a lot and there was a definite puncture mark.

Doctor thinks has just strained, cricked his neck - he thinks the lump is coincidence - he isn't asleep yet but is more settled.

I think something bit him - probably not a bee (because I do think this would hurt more and be a puncture mark (although DS does not seem to complain much about real issues, non-issues are another matter :-), so who knows - the info from daycare was mixed because in the morning one carer phoned me and from what she said there was some mark at that point and the one who phoned later didn't know I had been previously contacted) and that caused him to hurt his neck, and now he is just refusing to even try and move it.

He whimpered alot when doctor tried to get him to move it and felt around. I am hoping he relaxes over night and is better in the morning - we are meant to be going to see Tiger who came to tea.

Seems just the same today - he whimpered loads overnight everytime he tried to move - but did sleep. With a 3.5 year old is it just a matter of wait it out - or is there someone you can see (e.g. if my neck hurt that bad I would go see osteopath).

He is in reasonable spirits though.

Maybe see an osteo or chiro. Or you could call the nurse on call again and see what they have to say. I hope he is better soon.

Got him in at an Osteo yesterday, is a joint sprain and it is very locked (yesterday he looked like quasimodo today slightly better) - will need a couple of treatments. He is pretty ok with it, remarkably, I think it would make me pretty grumpy.

Was interesting seeing an osteo work with a 3.5 year old - they aren't the easiest of patients - thankfully this one knew his superheros so that helped.
