Has your DD2 been sick at all? Or look like she might be getting sick?
My DS2(was about 16months at the time) came out in hives a few weeks ago too - woke up from his day sleep and my mum (who looks after my boys on my work days) called me at work to tell me they were spreading. They started around his groin, then tummy, legs, neck, back, face and started to come up on his arms in the time I was speaking to her. I took him to the doctors that evening - just to be on the safe side - cause they were a little irritating, particularly around his neck - he kept scratching. He couldn't really say what had caused it, either an allergic reaction to something or it could've been a virus.
We hadn't done much different - the only thing I could think of was we'd been to a mongolian restaurant 2 nights prior and both my boys had some prawn crackers - but DS2 was ok the following day and the morning prior. Mum had also taken my boys down to the trampoline down the back - so maybe it was something he'd brushed against. But then that week both my boys ended up sick (I ended back at the doctors a week later which DS2 was diagnosed with croup and a middle ear infection - which I hadn't realised he had - i thought he was playing with his ear because of his tooth about to cut through) - so it made me wonder if it was maybe a virus afterall. We haven't had an issue since - and they have been down to the trampoline since - so I don't know what caused ours yet either.
If it happens again I would maybe arrange an appointment for the afternoon/evening and get them looked at by your doctor. But in our case there was not much he could do - just recommended to rub some QV cream onto them to relieve the itch and not use any soaps or anything in the bath. They ended up fading away within a few days.
Hope you's can figure it out and it goes away for you's soon.
