How wrong I was!! We were walking out the door of our room when radiology showed up to take M to the nuclear scan . We went & it was a pretty traumatic few hours for us. M was very brave and I was too! There were times when I wanted to walk outside and scream and cry but I held it together & held her hands. She was so brave, it was a scary machine.

Anyway, the scan showed that her left kidney wasn't functioning as well as her right. So with that knowledge we got sent home with the paediatric urologist saying he would phone me once he read the scan.

He rang this morning saying that the scan did show that her left side wasn't functioning as well as the right, but that it wasn't too bad. There wasn't an obstruction, there wasn't any utererocele's or anything like that...He said to keep her on her antibiotics and see him again in 2 weeks and he will retest her urine and make sure everything is good. He wants to confirm everything with the paediatric urologist at Sydney Children's and we may have to do stuff later, but for the moment there is no need for surgery! Which is a relief.... He also said that her kidney function was good, like %80 so they may decided to go do a laprascope and tie off one of the ureter's but nothing urgent and nothing too soon.
