Kam gets them a fair bit, as do I. We just use bonjela on Kamerons and sometimes panadol for pain relief if it is really bad. I put straight vegemite on mine. Stings like hell.
She could have bitten the inside of her lip. That can cause them. I get mine from stress, but I don't think a 2.5yr old would be overly stressed out.
Check hands and feet and tongue as well - hand-and-foot-and-mouth disease is a possibility. It's not serious for DD, but it is contagious and not very nice for pregnant women
Astrolady - thanks hun, So ill just keep doing what im doing.
Kmn - Nah no other sores anywhere else. No nothing anywhere TBH so I dont think its hand, foot and mouth. Shes been complaining of a sore mouth for about 5 days so the other sores would have showed up by now yeah? Should I take her to the doc anyway, just to double check? I have a terrible cold atm and dont really want to have to worry about that too!
Clover - She screamed blue murder yesterday when I put vegemite on her toast so I couldnt imagine putting vegemite straight on it. I just couldnt bring myself to do it to her Shes currently living off bland foods.. peanut butter sandwiches, yougurt, porridge etc. I attempted to get her to eat some spag bol for tea.. as soon as the tomato hit her mouth she was so upset
I will see if i can get her into the doc tomorrow just to check it out. I think I need to go aswell.. argh pregnancy sickness..

If there are no other sores then I wouldn't bother. There's nothing the doctor could do about it anyway. The main thing if it was is that you need to try and not have contact with her saliva or her pooh - careful handwashing and trying for "kiss Mum on the cheek" is probably all you can do anyway.
