My DD is almost 10 weeks. We have always been able to breastfeed and her growth is amazing but I think (almost 100% certain) she may have an upper lip tie that is affecting her feeding.
She clicks, has a hard time controlling the flow, slips off or milk leaks out due to poor latch, she nipple feeds, is highly gassy and has been prescribed Zantac.
She gains weight because she is ALWAYS on the boob. I never get a chance to put her down because she always appears hungry and gets hysterical unless I let her feed again. And each time it is a proper feed not a snack.
I don't experience any pain when feeding but that's because my boobs are numb from feeding a three year old with all her acrobatics.
Everyone has told me that she will get better as she gets older but there has been no improvement since birth.
Has anyone else experienced this?? Who do I go to for diagnosis? I would take her to my gp but I know he will just fob me off and tell me not to worry as her weight gain is great.
