    Hi Michael

He has had all his innoculations again whooping cough. Can he still get it even if this has happened. Also the doctor said that he chest was relatively clear and the vomiting would be normal if he was coughing quite hard and had a full tummy.

Is there something i should be doing about it?

    thanks

Kids can still get whooping cough if they're immunised. My son has always coughed until he vomits. Each and every time he gets sick. He just can't seem to cough without gagging. However, the first few time it happened I worried about whooping cough. If it's still happening I'd be inclined to go back to the GP for another check.

The pertussis vaccine is around 90% effective, so one in ten children do not develop a good immunity to pertussis. It's defintely worth getting checked out.
