Ds2 seems to be weeping a clear /sticky fluid between the lower ear lobe and his head (if that makes sense - about where earrings would be) right where the ear joins to the head. I think it started when I missed cleaning there a couple of times in the bath as its quite close together on both sides (the right is worse). It's leaving a dry yellow crusty type scab at the edge of a reddish sticky patch. Generally it doesn't seem to bother him but he will sometimes roll/rub his head on me after a feed at night as though his ear is itchy and he doesn't like me looking behind his ears.when I've tried to see what's going on / allow it to dry out a bit.
Ds2 is 3 mths and seems to have had his for about 1 1/2 weeks now.
I'm trying to work out if I need to see a GP for this or if there's something else/one I should do/see first.
Thoughts?

Its possible it is a form of cradle cap. My DD gets what the pediatrician called cradle cap in her arm pits and he said it often presents behind the ears also. We had to get cream on a script for our DD, beleive its called sigmacort (not near to check), it cleared it within two days.

Sounds like hotspots dd2 would get them if we didn't dry her off properly which would happen a bit as she screamed after a bath when we were drying and changing her. Hope it clears up quickly.
Just discovered while at the dr ds1 also has the same behind one ear except at the top so sigmacort it is for both (I did notice ds1 scratching there last night but he seems to have a sleep association of scratching his head so didn't think anything of it also looks like ds1 has cradle cap again too

Sounds exactly like eczema. I had it behind my ears when I was younger & would get the horrible sticky fluid as well. I just used an ointment like sigma court too. I had to make sure my ears were as dry as possible after baths/showers, all the normal stuff really. Hope it clears up soon!
