We go with a steamy bathroom during bathtime like Clover, followed by some Vicks VR on their chest (never heard about the feet trick though, will have to try!) and we finally make sure their room is warm (not too warm that its sweaty and uncomfortable though). With our two LO's the cold air seems to irritate their little throats causing them to cough as a reaction and lose valuable sleep and recovery time.
My LO's wouldn't drink a honey drink due to the taste of the honey, but some warm watered-down OJ with a little fresh grated ginger, and Bob's your Brother's, Mother's, Aunty's, Uncle's second Cousin!
Edit: We also use the SudaFed plug ins as suggested by Rivlas, but share one between the two bedrooms over a few hours so its not too 'intense' when they enter the room for rest (our LO's are not allowed to play in their bedrooms.)
Hope your DD is right soon Sterla
xx

It was particularly cold here last night (snow on the mountains and the cold wind that follows), so I think it was worse last night anyway. Doesn't seem as cold today, so hopefully we'll all sleep better tonight. Thank you everyone for the suggestions!
Thank you thank you for all your replies. I don't know what worked... but we had a much better night. Hardly any coughing from DD, and the when she did it didn't turn into a big coughing fit with the gagging and vomiting. The whole house smells faintly of eucalyptus now. lol.
