    Question Weird rash??

Ok so DS has a mild case of bronchiolitis (sp?) and he's been coughing up a couple of lungs lately - especially at night.

Since he has gotten sick - he has been breaking out in this WEIRD rash. Like, it sorta looks like someone gave him a big hard slap (which I haven't even though his behaviour has been less than pleasant lately!) and then it fades away... and then it turns up somewhere else.

It happens in all different places - today we noticed it on his back - and the back of his arms - and then later on that was all gone, but it was on the back of his thighs, and on his belly, and it periodically comes and goes from his cheek - and extends up to his ears. Its VERY strange. And we don't know what it is!!!!

Should we be concerned - or is this part of his cough?

Not a usual part of bronchiolitis. Is he on any antibiotics?? If he isn't concerned by it it is probably nothing to worry about but get it checked - if you can time it for when you go to the doctors which is usually the problem

Thanks Michelle. No he's not on any antibiotics - they said since its a viral thing he has - no antibiotics needed. So both kids are sorta suffering and we are living on limited sleep at the moment!!

Was hoping you would say no because it is viral and antibiotics aren't needed - but many GP's still give them It can be a viral rash which is common in the little people and usually is nothing to worry about. For the bronchiolitis - a humidifier can help with the coughing. Otherwise there isn't much you can do unfortunately

Yeah we have a vaporiser thingy but we only have one of them - and its in DD's room cos her case of it is MUCH worse than his (plus since she is so young, we are doing our best to try to keep her from going to hospital!!)

Ahhh well.. best prepare for another sleepless night!

DS also breaks out in rashes whenever he gets a virus. Just thought I'd let you know you aren't alone in that.

I hope tonight isn't so bad for your DS, it's so hard when they are sick.
