i have plantar warts on the bottom of one of my feet - used to get them heaps as a kid - really itchy all the time
i'd get it checked Kel - if it IS a plantar wart, you can get some at home stuff that will kill it off over a period of time...
In bed tonight rissy started itching her foot alot and she told me she'd been itching it alot lately and it was keeping her awake. I thought maybe it was tinea or something, so went looking for some anti-fungal cream but when she held out her foot for me to put the cream on, she said that there was a lump and it was itchy. So I felt it and sure enough there was a lump, under the skin. It didnt feel really round, it was maybe the size of a large pea but not in that shape, just felt like she had something bumpy and lumpy in her foot thats definitely not there on the other side. And its really itchy for her. Any ideas?
ETA: Its not painful on touch or red.

Planter wart would be my guess also.
Do they get inside the foot though? Feels really deep inside her foot and an odd shape? Sorry never heard of them before![]()

she hasn't been bitten by something of late and not said ?
Kathryn - I was thinking that too - maybe a spider bite or something
The first thing I asked her is if she'd stepped on something but nope... definitely feels like tissue under the skin. She's cut her big toe underneath but not the sole of her foot.
ETA: Hang on, she said something about being stung by a bee this weekend.... maybe she stepped on one.... hmmmm will ask her when she wakes up... the whole spider thing made me remember!!!

Yep they are usually pretty itchy for days afterwards
I was still thinking plantar wart. i had one on the ball of my foot and it was ITCHY as when i was a child. it was really deep and like you described the only real symptom (apart from itching) was the lumpy thing. eventually it kind of came to the surface (memory a bit vague here...) the Dr had to freeze it off. remember that clearly though LOL!
Bugger so there is nothing I can do to help?

ice pack will work with sting
plantar wart not much sorry hun!
if you are thinking sting then go the ice and i recommend that paw paw cream (in the red tub). it is AWESOME for itching. my friend got stung this afternoon at our BBQ and we whacked that on and it did the trick.
Thanks ladies... will let you know how I go! x

if it *is* something in there - something foreign you could use the old remedy of pure soap and sugar - get the gunky soap from the bar and mix sugar into it - put it on the area where the thing is and it should draw it out - mum used to do this all the time with boils, splinters etc.
good luck with it Kel & hope you find out what it is![]()
Kel
Did you find out what is wrong with Rissy?
Didn't end up going yesterday, got majorly held up and was also working most the day but I will sort it out soon!

if it isnt red or warm to touch there is no infection yet so thats a good sign.
could be planter wart but id lean more towards scar tissue from previous bee sting that can ball up and be really itchy as the new layers of tissue are forming.
also with kids feet they heal quickly and they get lots of nicks and bumps because they are just kids exploring the world.
I just looked at her foot - its slightly red around the area, not hot and the tissue seems to be reduced.... I asked her if she stepped on the bee on the weekend and she said yes... LOL... crisis over lol!!!!
