Cant really help with a pead neurologist, but my first appt with a neurologist was a bunch of questions first, then physical tests like walking in a straight line, doing toe to heal walking, reflex checking, eye checking like follow finger with eyes etc, and some test for co-ordination and balance... They then went on to other tests, but not in the appointment, like MRI, nerve conduction tests, hearing tests etc, but they were all booked after and I could then anticipate what was coming from them. I would assume that your appt would follow a similar line?
If you mention your concerns with touching etc to the receptionist when you book the appt they might be able to give you an idea of what you could expect in an appointment. Good luck.
