I probably wouldn't be overly worried as such, but if it has grown that much and there is another one growing, then I'd definitely be getting it checked out.

Maybe its just an infection of some sort. They are all slightly swollen around that one. I'll let the gp check out her pelvis if he wants to. Can't feel any under her chin. Just 3 or 4 at the back of her neck normal swollen, like they get with an infection & that one. I noticed that one wednesday last week. Not the others.

    has she been sick lately?

DD also has a few enlarge lymph nodes around her neck and head and the paed said theres nothin to worry about it unless it hurts or it is enlarged for long periods of time.

It will usually enlarge when your child isnt well as the immunie system is down but should get back to normal size (in our DD's case larger than normal size) once they recover.

Hopefully its nothin to worry about, please kept us up to date as DD also has them and like you I get worried quite often too.

We actually have a friend who had the same as a child & ended up finding out when one enlarged that he had thyroid cancer. It got bigger & was hurting, but doctors fobbed them off for 2 years. He ended up going down to royal far west for something completely different & they checked it out.
I'm not that worried, but it makes you think.

My DS2 gets these all the time and like everyone else has said dont worry too much just yet.

His come up everytime he has been under the weather and hang around for a couple of weeks afterwards.
He did have one that lasted a while longer and we had an ultrasound done on it but it was fine. Turned out to be just an over active enlarged lymph node and he was given a two week course of anti biotics to help it on its way.

They are nasty looking things but my GP told me they are common and if the are "movable" and not hurting then thats a good thing.

Hope your u/s puts your mind at rest
