You do also have to ask yourself if there was such a need for it, why did it stop becomming a routine practice in newborns? Why are there so few Drs that still do it these days? There must have been a reason for it to stop as we all know the medical fraternity seems to hate change (or is that just in the obstetrict area? ) so I find it highly unlikely that they stopped without a valid reason kwim?
I agree with this. I suspect that at the end of the day the medical profession were seeing more complications from being cut than benefits.
