Michael, I agree with the point you make about Female circumcision in regards to it being done for religious reasons, and I believe that in these instances the families are encouraged to seek medical advice and have it done in a hospital setting so 1 it is done in a clean and sterile environment (I do understand that the Jewish Bris isn't done in this setting either) and 2 so that only the bare minimum is taken. Some girls were being done in dubious situations where their health was put in dire risk.

Personally, I would love it if there was a law against it, but that's just my personal view on it. It isn't up to me to talk others around to my POV, simply to share it with them.
