Kaz - so sorry to hear of your FIL - I understand your DH feeling numb - I still feel that way about my dad and he went a little over a month ago. It really sucks.

The babywearing group I am a member of is about to do a group order of kindercoats - I think they get a better price. I can find out if you could join in on the order if you like. (or have you already ordered - I think I missed a page...)

Nelle - SM33 is ace - I just get it from the chemist. Calms Mr Perpetually Teething in no time. I've also just started the Hylands Homeopathic Teething Tablets as I think he's going to get addicted to lignocaine if I keep giving him SM33, dunno if they're doing much yet though. Chamomile tea is apparently supposed to soothe, as is a teaspoon of cloves soaked in water - how much water and how long for I don't know...

Maz - you've got a little terror there - too gorgeous for words but totally up to mischief.

Gigi - give yourself and the beautiful Bilbybot a hug and a kiss from me honey. Thinking of you right now.

    QM: Happy Punky Day!!!

    Off to bed...

WOHB: chamomile tea (used it to help with NR and now I just like the smell, so I'm still using it to wipe his bum), and boosted Cute Tooshies with a grandma knitted soaker.

thats a great point suse!! the more they have over time the more resistant they become to lignocane ,t is less effective in dental injections in the years to come!

Suse - I've ordered through Paulus. guessing that's who you're ordering through as well?

Queenmab - I have an elaroo ring sling (don't use that much though now) and also a Mei Tei (can't remember the type though, I got it off Paulus) that I wear on my back. Hey if you got the teething necklace through DD, which one did you get? I got the darker (cognac) ones, can't wait to put them on Pip.

I do prefer SM33 but having said that, I rarely put any gel on his gums. when I use it it when we're both at the end of our tethers!!! I find a damp washer thrown into the freezer the best thing for him to relieve pain.

WoHB - a (prolly very damp!) snoozywun.

Soon to be a hemp BB with BB PUL cover.

Nelle - chemist for the SM33 like was previously posted. We don't use it that often either, but I do find myself reaching for it before panadol or nurofen - cos if he gets better with just the gel then I definitely know they are bothering him. With all the drugs he is having in his system at the moment though, I doubt he can feel anything!!!

He's trashing the dvds at the moment, but is entertaining himself so don't like to bother him!!!!

Just washed all my woollens - haven't opened the washing machine yet, so I hope they all survived ok.... my mum is bringing around some lanolin stuff so hopefully I can get them on the clothes horse today.. woohoo!!!!!

Oooh and exciting news - Snoozywun did not leak with morning flood.. maybe I have just gotten to the most absorbent part!! WOOOHOO!!!!

    WOHB: BBH with maz cover..

Guidi - I picked up Pip and he was wet! The snoozywun leaked! But then I found he'd undone it in his sleep ... must put something over them. Darnit.

Just about to wrestle the boy for his ventalin then we'll head out to do some shopping, I have no food in the house.

    WoHB - magicall.

Kazbah, sorry to hear about your FIL hon,

Suse, lovely to hear from you after what seems like ages

Gudism, i thought about washing the woollies in the machine, but then i realised i would have to lanolise them after that, and i can't be stuffed doing two processes, so i'm gonna stick to teh handwashing/lanolising all at the same time.
THe thing i discovered about lanolin is that using hot water from the tap, was not enough to dissolve it. I now use boiling water only to dissolve it, and that works great.

i think for people that don't want to dissolve the lanolin, there is the option of lanolin sprays like Sheepish Grins etc, that you spray onto the item and massage in with your fingers.

MISSING SOX< BABYLEGS ETC - i'm using this washbag from spotlight, it looks like a big pencil case with three dividers (made out of fine mesh stuff). WIth one long zip. I put in bilby's sox, my bras, legwarmers, any pair things that easily get lost normally, or gentle care stuff like bras. The wash ends, you take out the bag, and the paired socks are still together. Oh yeah, and it was great for keeping pairs of breastpads together too for the 8 months when they were my 24/7 essential.
I realise you aren't all anally retentive virgos like me, but maybe one person might find this idea useful.

MAZ - rainbow longies are gorgeous! Vy is looking so grown up, so beautiful! The camera doesn't show me the impish part of her that gets into everythign! i have one of those here myself so i well know what you mean.

Cookie Monster - oh bum, now i forget what i had to say to you! (after reading 5+ pages, gee it's hard to remember who said what and what i wanted to add!!).

Your Royal Mabelness, must go look at kindercoats, you have me curious. Alaska hehe, that sounds hardcore. Maybe the penguins sealed the package.

Janie - hello if you are lurking!

    Tracey - happy late birthday!

Raven - love the shorties you knitted on your blog - impressive! Your belly is so beautiful. (cluckity cluck).

Hope all the sick kidlets are on the improve.

WHoever is buying the mattress protector at the wee wuns, i got the Swaddlebees one, loved it, wonderful for nappy free time, feeding bubs in your bed, heaps of uses. Looks so simple, but was sooo useful (until bubs gets mobile).

THe aplix on the snoozywuns is what stopped me getting one, bilby is too clever with aplix!

alioops! how high is the mountain of boxes now? can we still see you?

    beautrix - hiya!

WOTBB: FJ rainbow fitted with possums pouches longies

(a daytime post, in your honour, FJ).

Nelle/Kaz - Yup, DD, I too got the cognac one - although, do we think it will be comfortable for Punky to wear, what with all the weird shaped chips etc...? I was thinking about it last night & wondering if I should change it to the multi coloured round one...? Don't love the colour but it might be more comfy? Anyone already got one of either...?!

Gigi - lol, are there penguins in Alaska? I thought it was just Antarctica... I know there are wolves & lots of snow! I love that it came from there - hanging for someone to ask me where I got it so I can tell them!!

OK, when you are out and about, do you use disposable liners? or do you still use microfleece ones & wrap them with the solids in a plastic bag & throw them in the wetbag and clean them when you get home?

Kaz - yep - that's where I'd be getting a kindercoat from if I was actually getting one, there not being much call for one in far north queensland. I got my mei tai and my wrap through the group though, with another one one the way (help, I'm obsessed). Do you post much on the group, or do you lurk? I'm a bit stoked - I think I've just managed to sell my Ergo, and I found the Connecta I want on TBW FSOT, both on the same day, and both for the same price. Talk about serendipity.

    OK, off track there...

Hmm, I've got an amber necklace somewhere - maybe I should drag it out and try it on Euan.

Gigi - I have been a bit absent - Mr feeds less often and is usually quick, so less time online for me. And he's so wriggly that it's hard to type. Little terror is into everything - doesn't stop. We got a cage (playpen) yesterday so at least I can put him somewhere safe now.

QM - you're right, no penguins in Alaska - they have land based migratory predators. But the Arctic circle does have the flying versions of penguins - they're called little orks. They're really cute. Suse will stop the David Attenborough impersonation now... (Why are we talking about penguins anyway...oh, OK, I've figured it out...?)

Sal, I don't bother - I just put him in a nappy. If he poos, I just roll up the nappy and bung it in the wetbag and deal with it when I get home. Now that he's on solids and the poo is a little more rollable I could flush it down the loo if there happens to be one handy I suppose. I've never noticed any smell with a sealed bag.

Oh, and I've learnt a valuable lesson - NEVER sell a night nappy until its replacement has arrived - still no WC. I hope that Michelle is OK, she's probably in the middle of having a baby which is much more important.
