Ren, if you're peapods are no good you should be able to sell them on bfb but you might only get 80% (i think at most) for them...
As for blueberries being expensive - they are a one size, their inserts are microfleece and bamboo - the best insert i have had so far, and there are minky ones too - minky is pretty & expensive. Oh, and they are a dream to stuff, they are so easy, my HH, BumG and Haute are harder to stuff and i always find they twist a lot.
BumG's are around $28 and they only have the microfleece insert, so a bit less absorbent, not quite as pretty, and harder to stuff... i reckon the blueberries are better value, but thats just me.
I reckon the only thing that might outdo them is an ittibitti but im not sure on the fit, and i have two larges that i use as night nappies (which are fab).
ittibitti! that was the other one we looked at... we liked them too very similar design to the peapods and the way the liner went in throught epocket was the same however we thoguht the outside layer would get dirty.... what happens when the babys are outside playing and just a nappy and singlet on ins ummer? or do you girls make sure they have pants on over the nappies? we liked the outer layer of peapods they seemed to be easier to wash, less stainable iykwim but maybe not i dont know
we have to have pants here as sophie undoes nappies!! i seriously wouldnt worry about getting dirty, they wash very well!!
have you got any fitted and covers?
They wash up great! I had a blow out on my berry plush yesterday and it was absolutely covered and it has washed up fine. I dont think dirt would be too bad. Hmm maybe maz or someone else can help, i dont really use my ibs too often yet.
well i'm branching out i just ordered two berry plush and one extra set of snap in inserts.. they just looked sooo cute lol i ordered the dalmation print and the ocean colours.. someone tell me they are good eep they were pretty expensive!!!
Renstar - if its between itti bittis and pea pods my god pleaaaasssee go with the ittis!! i have had so much trouble with my pea pods! we are very lucky to not have a leak in them unless we put a cover over the top which obviously defeats the purpose of them being a pocket nappy with a cover included!!
i dont think i have ever had a leak with ittis and the way the pea pods wear (ive only had them around 3-4mths and the lining is pilling and lookd pretty old) i dont think they will last as long..
of your worried about the fluffy cover of the delish nappies you can get itti bitti nappies with a similar outer as the pea pods have a look on their website
Don't panic Ren! We have 2 small peapods and at first I hated them, but only because they tend to size large (well they did when I bought them, nappy brands/styles always seem to be evolving) and so didn't fit at first. They took awhile to fit Riv (haven't tried them on Si yet, he's a titchy one), but once they did, I just made sure they were well boosted (so some microfibre on top of the hemp or bamboo) and no problems.
Did you buy hemp or bamboo ones? I still use my hemp booster, I really like it.
Nope Jols I haven't tried it yet, but I've definitely heard of it - how would you do it? On warm? Hot for a short time?
As for what else to get - what about some fitteds with covers? I really don't think you can beat them for a newborn. And they'll go the distance better than most pockets when your bub starts sleeping through at 6 weeks (haha, fingers crossed! :P). Maybe some Baby BeeHinds Bamboo or Hemp, or some Tots Bots Bamboozles? The size 1 Tots Bots nappies are brilliant for young babies. I love them. We've mostly got size 2 - bamboozles are trim enough to fold down for a young baby, maybe from 4-6 weeks onwards, and even the cottons turn out pretty trim if they're tumble dried.
Green Kids are great too. The website's great, and I've also seen them at Nurture Nappies, where you can check out quite a few different nappy types. Think they've got Tots Bots Fluffles (discontinued, but love ours for Si) on sale at the moment. Oh, and I've seen GK's at The Wee Wuns too I think.
Can I just say I LOVE my mum - River was just irrepressible today, not repentant about anything, being very naughty, climbing things saying 'uh oh' quite cheerfully, eating random things off the floor, opening Si's nappy bucket and playing with the dirty nappies...I called mum just to talk to another adult, and she volunteered to come and get him and have him for the night so I can try and clean the house. I so needed that.
Oh yeah, as for red peapods running, I think it's a red thing, heaps of my red clothes run, and I've heard of many red nappies running or leaking...wierd. Maybe Melbel (Oh Great One who knows pretty much everything about any material) will know why?
ETA: Nonie, I LOVE my BerryPlushes, yep they're pricey, but they're just a brilliant nappy I reckon. Good work.
