    hi girls!

    Limeslice
There is no leg gape - it leaks at the top up her singlet and shirt. Never at the legs or crotch.
I understand what you mean by bulk and tummy gape... how do you stop this though if they need bulk? will the longies stop it?

Gigi - should i measure from ankle up to where for the rise?? to make sure i order the correct sizing ?

AJ - hold off just for the moment thanks babe! i have been given a whole heap from mantaray so will see how they will go lasting me . is that ok?

Gudism - we will be in sposies until i find a solution. I will order some longies today and hopefully get them by tuesday. Thinking i should get medium instead of large - she is asleep so cant measure her.
And i will see if that stops the leak... will it or am i being sillly on what a wool cover actualy does?

Any other ideas for good quality longies or shorties before i purchase??

PP - I got some cheap (ish) longies off ebay for around $27.99 a pair, and they work great. I gave them a wash and lanolised them, and had them on him last night. The nappy underneath was pretty wet (we left it on for the morning flood, and a surprise poo!) but the longies were fine. They just sorta repel the pee I think from leeching into other clothes above the nappy (is that the right words I'm looking for?)

WOHB: Ecobubs wool pocket Purdy purdy...

Actually Q for Nelle cos I know you've got Ecobubs too - do you notice that the nappy seems a bit backwards? Like the snaps that I would assume to be at the front (the shorter winged ones) have the edge of the pocket there (which is like at the back of the nappy on the BumG's?) Or are mine a bit... d!cky?

Yeah Mel, the winge are kinda shaped...stumpy? I still loved them though! (I say loved because we're out of the mediums now. )

PP - I got a large for Aricyn - because he is just over 11kg and large goes from 10. It fits him really nicely, although i have ordered a medium because he has a really slim waist so it should fit him ok as well.

I put a BB wool cover over it, but it doesn't quite reach the top -nearly but most of the time I try and pull it up as much as I can. I like using my longies or shorties over the top of them - even though they don't need a cover - I do it because I know he does that big morning wee.

Nelle - so the open pocket part is supposed to be at the front and I'm NOT going insane?
I think DS still fits into the mediums... lol.... since he has decided to be on a liquid only diet (can't get him to eat ANYTHING) then he'll probably be in smalls soon...

what longies does eveyone buy. I am looking at the ones on DDu... buying a longie and a shorty....

there are a few on an auction site.... Oz... but i think it must be a WAHM.. they are only $15 for shorties and $20 for longies... do you think wool is wool or better to go for the ones on DDU?

The reason the other word for the lanolised knitted covers is SOAKER, is because these items SOAK UP urine.

(you might see items for sale described as "wool soaker")

So, after the fitted night nappy has absorbed as much as it's going to (is at maximum absorbency, feels damp to the touch), then the wool of the longies takes over, soaking up urine (well it does if you have lanolised the woollies AND the cover/longies is 100% covering the nappy, including the back, EVERY skerrick of the fitted night nappy needs to be covered for this to work).

that's my amateur description, it's much better explained at nappycino forum, at the WHY WOOL link.

the clothes ABOVE a night nappy will WICK if you tuck singlets, pj tops etc INTO the night nappy.

    wicking is like this
    imagine a bucket of water
you put 20cm end of a bath towel in the bucket, only the immersed bit is wet
come back in 30 mins, whole towel is wet, even though only 20cm is IN the water - this is WICKING

FJ - thanks they are the kozi ones i was looking at. Might try for the lamajama... or what ever they are!

Gigi- i have honestly not read half of those responses! lol have now. NOt sure it is my lack of concentration or the forum moves a littel too fast sometimes that i dont remember how far to read back if i dont check for a day. So please dont take offense - just think i am a little dense if i ask the same question twice im sorry i do this

I am trying the BBB again tonight (i have been experimenting like you say to find what works). I am having a trifold inside under the short and double long snap in bamboo boosters and going to do them tighter to try and reduce waist gape. Then see if perhaps a little less bulk might make the BB wool cover fit better in the rise... i can only try.
My theory behind using less bulk (although it probably sounds backwards) was that we had a busy day today and i put a standard bbb + pul cover on her at 1230 and with all the driving around and hospital visits i didnt get her home (where she was asleep in the car) for hours and she slept in this... until 530pm. So 5 hours and no leaks.... BBB was soaked but no leaks....

The wool covers (large) were BRAND NEW . SO it isnt an issue of shrinkage.

I measured her and she has a 19inch rise with the boosting as above with the BB wool on. So i will use that to look for longies and shorties.

I will back off a little on the questions, i am sorry but i do get a little confused and frustrated waiting for that lightbulb moment.

Nessa, Get me on MSN for sure, I also have a Pfaff hobby lock also, might be a differnt model number though as I only got it earlier this year.

I just gave all of my prefolds a wash. I did some adjustments to them as I made them too big for a NB I think. So Now I have 30x30 & then some 40x30 for later on.

Im also making some NB nappies with applix closure. I made 2 with a rainbow pring (different to the one you got GiGi) & DH thinks its too gay LMAO!

Sorry Pink - i wasn't trying to get you to ask less questions.

I am feeling a bit fragile (had PND for nearly two years now, very hard to get help for it) and probably read too much into you not having read my posts - so that's my bad, not yours. I apologise.

You are pregnant, prolly very tired and maybe not having the time to read ALL the posts that have come up since you visited this thread the day before - which would make it easy to miss mine. I should have just posted the link to my prior post, instead of coming to the incorrect conclusion, so i am sorry.

THis forum is all about asking questions, please don't let me being fragile, put you off asking questions. Each time YOU ask a question, there are bound to be plenty of other people who benefit equally from the answers/brainstorming that results (after each question.

i answer the same questions over and over on multiple forums, but on other forums i can post url (website links) which makes it very easy for the person to go to the info and saves me having to type out heaps of stuff. I can't do that on this forum, not allowed, - even for cloth advocacy sites (not for profit, no money involved).

sorry to have over-reacted Pink, my apologies, it was silly of me and out of order.
