Awww sal your little girl is sooo cute!!!!!!

DH has given me permission to buy a Minky GK.. hmm.... now... do I take the bait or not...

PP - thought you were trying out your longies? We tried out our new ones last night.. hehe.. LOVE THEM.. I paid an exra $2 for them to lanolise them for me so I could use them straight away (cos I wouldn't of been able to wait.. )

Lol at you not being able to wait to lanolise the longies Mel! :P You're my kinda gal!
    The Minky's are pretty cool.

Sal, Maddison's just gorgeous. Sure you know that though. Not sure on a cover pattern...could you trace the shape of a cover you already have?

I got my first ever Fluffy Mail today!(Bought all my others at the expo)

So exciting! DH was laughing at me - he just doesn't get it....

I was parcel from Baby Beehinds:

4 BBB (2 blue, 2 purple) - 2 for me, and 2 for presents to new mums
2 sm PUL covers (1 green, 1 purple) - presents to go with the BBB to the new mums
    1 lrg PUL cover (purple)
2 lrg wool covers (1 blue, 1 purple)
    and a large purple magicall

I didn't realise how much purple I had ordered until I took it out of the pack...DH said something about me being frustrated somehow LOL

I could have sworn that I had also ordered 4 bamboo night boosters too, and had to get my email order receipt thingy open to tell me that I didn't.....must have accidently closed the window (we have major internet issues here - sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't) that had the checkout that I ordered it in, and then forget to put them back in again when I re-did my order...D'oh!

Do I need to lanolise the BB wool covers before I use them for the first time? I thought maybe I read somewhere in one of these threads that you don't bother doing the BB woolies, but do you do it once, and then never again? Or just never at all?

Oh, and I know they reckon to wash every 2 days, but is it uber important? We use MCN at the moment for 5 days of the week, so in that time do I have to do 3 washes, or can I do one with 2 days of nappies, and one with 3? Just that washing 1 days worth seems like a waste of water, and time etc...but can do it if it really is necessary for the nappies...

DH is a funny one - DD had a BBB and BB PUL cover on while she had her nap, and he was the one that got her up when she woke up, and he hasn't really done much with the BBB, just the AIO and pockets that we have, so he undid the cover, and then called for me to come and help him coz he didn't know what to do....he even asked if he has to change her at all, of if she was still good to go! And it was an easy peasy change - she was just wet, how hard can that be to change?

WOHB - sposie, DH took her to the shop, so I told him I would let him use a sposie while they were out, coz he knows what he is doing with them...

DH took DD so I could have some peace to ring a man about a job, and he isn't answering the phone anyway! Its always the way!

PP - hope they are dry!!!!

Ali - I didn't lanolise the BB wool cover when I first got it, just used it until it smelt a bit too much like wee for my DH to put up with (he has a sensitive nose - but I would say that I kept it for about a month without washing). I didn't use it every night though, but most nights. And I hung it up on the curtain rod (yes I know, I am strange) so it would get an airing each day so it wouldn't smell as wee like.

So its back in the cupboard now that I am using longies (I just prefer the longies over the BB wool covers, anyone else find that?) but once all my longies smell too much like wee wee, then I'll give them a wash and lanolise and then start using my BB ones. I just rotate them like that.
Did that answer your question? I'm very tired, so probably babbling..

    Coolies. Thanks for that girls!

I think I will do it before I use them for the first time - I want to wash them before I use them first, and they wouldn't be dry enough to use tonight now anyway...Now I just have to hunt down my tube of Lansinoh that is around here somewhere - probably with a bunch of other stuff I haven't seen (or even missed!) since we moved in here at the start of April...

Gudi - a curtain rod sounds like as good a place as any to me to hang it to dry! With the PUL covers I have to alternate where they are, either on the end of the change table, or on the end of the cot, depending on where Emy is. I have tried to keep the just on the end of the change table, but then when I went to change her, she grabbed them, and started flapping them about everywhere, and then threw them as far as she could. Crazy monkey! I don't have any curtain rails on any of my windows yet, so don't have that option.

PP - you make them sound soooooooo good and soft squishy and comfy... It makes me want a pair for myself! (but only ones that can go in the machine, coz I couldn't handwash to save my life - I send all of my handwashing to mum, good thing there isn't much of it!)

Sheesh the GNST & Sandmans take ages to dry! I think I'll start refusing to put my MCN any longer than 2 hrs in the dryer. The rest of the time they can sit on the airer if it's too cold/wet outside...

So I haven't been able to use the new ones yet... maybe tomorrow. Might try my longies then too!

Aha - the washing's just finished so off I go to hang out DS's clothes on the airer. He's been a bit 'sicky' lately and we're really going through the clothes. Wish I could remember to put a bib on him! He also leaked through his swaddlebees with a poo and his happy heiny with a wee...
