LS - from watching for a few weeks.
MOst sell between 65-70 anyhow. You would be lucky to get one for under $60.
I can order you one from ABA... ill check the price but was cheaper than i paid brand new!!!
Acutally just checked. Even with my 10% discount - Still be $75 :(
Limey both of the of the LS I have bid on are still under $50. If I get both I will send one your way. If I dont get any then I will drive to natures cradle and buy one coz it will work out cheaper than paying retail and postage.
Just a quick post.
Had the scan saw a hb(120bpm) & i'm 6 weeks with a EDD of 26/3/09.
congrats trinity...
i am going for boy!!! lol
congrats mo!!!!!
Congrats Mo
I just ordered some Rainbow LJ's .....Katrina at Boorai i posting them for me today........now I must stay away from any nappy sites.....am waiting on L'js 2 b4b wins and a cute tooshie.
WOHB...still a sposie
Cheers ali!! :)
PP - yeah, Im not toohopeful about scoring one under $60 - will just have to wait for another months....my scraper is doing the job! lol
Gigi - I do prefer the narrow crotch nappies, as you know, aside from that though, anything I am willing to try. I have some fluffles, but they will be too small by summer (almost too small now really) and I am really not fussed with getting more of those. I want fitted really cos they are easy for DF to use. He can use the pickets and the AI2's but he cannot touch the microfibre (like the BumG inserts) - he has a similar problem to Christy with the minky, he cant bring himself to physically touch it, so I have to prestuff them all! lol
Looking preferably for something fairly good value too....Cannot justify spending $40 on a berry plush or anything :( So yeah, fitteds, any pattern any fabric, we dont have any reaction issues or anything so anything is a goer! But I do want something purdy to show off cos they are for summer so she will be nappy flashing quite a bit!
Oh, and I like aplix, she likes snaps lol but either or is ok - they will have a cover anyway so she only plays with it when she is bored :)
Thanks hun!!
BTW, I sent you a MASSIVE email yesterday, then as soon as I hit send my puter had a spas attack...did you get it or not? Realllly dont want ot have to type it all out again, but I want you to get your email!!
Mo - awesome news hun! I'm thinking PINK!!
have hungry child climbing on me...better go feed and then nap time!! woohoo!!
WOHB: BumG....about to be changed to....BumG!! lol
Who was asking about the sewn in itti bittis, was that Nelle? Anyway, I have both sewn in & snap in, and I much prefer the sewn in. I'm not really sure why, but I tend to use them first, then when they're all dirty, then I use the snap in.
I've been as sick as a dog since yesterday with the flu, so I haven't even bothered looking at the new BBH I got. Once they're prewashed, I'll let you all know how they go.
Congratulations Mo!! I hope you have a wonderful, uneventful pregnancy.
WOEB: pink bbh magicall
WONB: sposie - she's at daycare
I actually prefer the snap in itti's, I like being able to see the boosting. I have a feeling that there isn't as much in the sewn in.
I got the rainbow LJ from Booroi as well. They nice! Also got a discount code for my next order too :)
ok all you soaker knitting queens!
if i drop a stitch.. do i have to unravel everythign ive done and start again!!!
And how come i start witha cast off of 48 and i now have about 70?
i am soo doing something wrong i know!
Not all of the stitches are in a nice row hanging under my needle.. some are wrapped around and all over the place.
perhaps buying is easier!
(and can i say... the dogs barking next door again for almost 4 hours... so nice!!!! rahhhhhhhh)
Limey doesn't it suck now that you can't see the username of the leading bidder! I know in the past a few times I saw a name I recognised so kept away.
Mo that is a great result :D Congrats!
I have the snap in ittis. Haven't got any of the AIO's as yet. For those who have them how quickly do they dry? I love the snap ins because they dry almost overnight and I've never had to put them in the dryer.
ETA PP no! Do you have a crochet hook? If not you can still pick them up, it is a bit tricker though. There is a great tutorial on knittinghelp on how to pick up stitches that has saved my skin! Will PM you the link.
ETA x 2 Ummmm not sure what you are doing there to be picking up extra stiches. What are you trying to knit? is it ribbing or just plain stockinette stitch?
PP, sounds like you have been adding a few stitches here and there ;) It is possible to repair a dropped stitch, but it is hard for me to explain. I really recommend that you go to the library and borrow a book called 'Instant Expert Knitting' It will show you how to pick up a dropped stitch.
Keep practising hun, it will come. I have been knitting for about 10 years and only recently started prctising again and what do you know, I am making longies for a swap with a lovely BB member ;)
OK - update... pulled it all off and starting again (sorry NEss!)
Thanks Ali. i dont know where i create new stitches.. .perhaps some chocolate will help me
WOHB - BBB + purple PUL
Been thinking of starting a cover knitting thread for the last couple of weeks and have decided now is a good a time as any :) Especially now there are a few knitters amongst us! https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...ml#post1359340
yay!!!!
great idea Sam, I have been shown some great links over the past few weeks I would be happy to share.
Gud- did it arrive today???
Great idea sammi!!
Bea - nah didn't arrive today - but all my longies did!!
PP - you sound lik eme! I finally managed to remember how to cast on, now only 8 rows later have about twice as many stitches on teh needle as I started with lol But I dont seem to be doing anything wrong...hubby thought maybe I was knitting seperate strands of the the yarn iykwim? Needless to say, I am not a knitter....
I thought I could knit a cot blanket for Bump couldn't be too hard, just straight lines adn nothing fancy! lol That was when I was 13 weeks pregnant. I have so far done 8 rows. and they were in the first week lol
good luck - I hope you are more persistant than me!!
sam - yeah I would like to see the bidders name, it would make it a whole lot easier
Well, no sun again today, so the nappies are slowly drying inside...Thank goodness I have mostly IB's!! You know I realised today that I only have TWO true AIO's! Is that odd? I really like AIO's, but they take so long to dry! Maybe that's why I only have 2...hmm
Mel - hope you are not reading this! If you are, dont be disheartened...
...Sex didnt work for us either! lol It was really rather embarrassingly bad! lol
WOHB: Just for something different today....bumG lol
LS - i am determined!!! lol i will do 1 row!!! by tonight!!! i will!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i just got fluffy mail :D
2 Green bums AIO's (newborn & small)
3 newborn boosters
3 small boosters
hubby says as he was handing it over... i guess this is yours? & is it more nappies?? i say yep :D and laugh at him :P
not sure if i can paste this in here (apologises if i cant)
AIO Pockets on sale at baby safari- $16
thought those on a binge might be interested lol
WOHB - nuthin!!! in the bath
I got fluffy mail!
DH answered the door this afternoon to accept a parcel and comes into the loungeroom saying "you've got fluffy mail!" ha ha ha!
I received:
Sandmans night nappy (interesting...)
Good Night Sleep Tight nappy (very fuzzy)
Greenkids funtime - helicopter
Blueberry - green minky
Bit confused by the greenkids though - the inserts are like an A4 page size... do they get folded into 3 or 2??
They all look very good. Can't wait to try them out. They're in the loungeroom on the airer trying to get a bit dry. Will put them in the dryer in the morning to finish them off.
Thanks for the info on the Giraffe minky... now I have a $120 order on NN ready to go! Just got to suck up to DH so I can place it now! Anyone tried the BumGenius bottom cleanser?
I ask you - is there anything more annoying than having the scroll wheel on your mouse broken?? Grrrr! Must go & buy a new mouse tomorrow!
Nettie - WRT Green kids inserts - are you talking about the length being the size of A4 or the width? Cos mine are long, but I don't need to fold them, they fit in perfectly?
PP........did you have to post that........I just brought one, thought I may as well try it at that price.
I think I've been sent the wrong things... They are both the length and width of an A4 page - like a prefold. It's edged in rainbow overlock and seems to be bamboo (but can't tell) The Greenkids pocket came empty, so I assumed these things were the inserts - but checking the greenkids website, I don't seem to have gotten an insert - just two of these A4 thingys.
Just Emailled them to ask about it. Will let you know how I get on...
How bizarre.. maybe they have changed their inserts - unless Nelle has some suggestions?? None of my inserts even look remotely like that for my Green Kids.
Let us know how you go Nettie
WOHB: Blue BBB with his new longies.. woohoo!!
hello again everyone!
well, i went back to spotlight yesterday, and bought more microfleece, and could have SWORN that I picked up little additions stuff, so should have been cheaper than what I paid, but then they told me that it wasn't, but it had scanned wrong anyway - at $12.99, and they looked in the catalogue and said it should be $8.99, but i still reckon it should have been $5.99......but it was already 5.30, and they were trying to close the shop, and emy was cranky, so I didn't argue too much.....
PP - when I was in spotlight last week, i got a book from Panda (knitting/wool people) called "learn to knit with 56 projects" and i have started with a scarf for a teddy bear, so i only cast on 9 stitches, and then get a lot more rows done! I have tried to learn a few times in the past, with mum teaching me, but she has always cast on heaps of stitches and then i do about 6 rows and get bored coz i can't really see any progress in what i'm doing......so i reckon if i can get my teddy scarf done, then i can start to tackle something a little bigger and trickier........oh yeah, I have pulled mine apart a few times, coz the first time i started with 9 stitches, and ended up with 21, and i asked mum, and she reckoned that i must have not been taking the stitch off the needle properly, but i slowed down what i was doing a bit, and i think that maybe when i was taking the wool up to go between the needles i wasn't doing it very successfully, and somtimes splitting the wool over the top of the needle, so then it looked like i had a stitch to knit, so i did, but it shouldn't have been there in the first place - so now i just be very careful to make sure that i haven't split the wool, and have been a lot more successful! (Well, this is just my theory anyway, i could be completely wrong....)
With LS - I read somewhere on another forum, that someone got one from Reece (plumbing people) for a lot cheaper - about $54? Do you reckon that it would be a real LS, or just something similar?
Edit: just went and read the cover knitting thread - i'd listen to their suggestions over mine any day!
Nettie, my GKs inserts are like two hourglass-shaped pieces of bamboo sewn together at one end. HTHs!
Mel, do you mind if I have another go at that nappy beofre posting it back? It didn't get a really good go the other day, not much more than an hour. Please, please say if you need it back ASAP though. Hope you're enjoying telling everyone to pi$$ off and leave you along :cryinglaugh:!
WOHB: sposie, cos he pooed in the only dry BBB  and yes, it had a liner in it, but he managed to get poo on the nappy as well. And he didn't even wee in it, what a waste!!!! LOL
With the Green Kids you need to order the inserts seperately from the website....I know this because I just went looking to buy them lol I dont own any so I have no idea what they have sent you, but going from the website, it mentions specifically that the inserts are ordered seperately...
WOHB: Sandman and soaker and babylegs...hopefully going to sleep soon - when she stops bouncing off the walls!
I tend not to buy the GK inserts (nothing wrong with them, I've just had bamboo on hand to make my own is all), but that doesn't sound like the standard GK inserts if it's as wide as an A4 sheet...
Perhaps they're including trifolds/bifolds or something these days, like Mel suggested.
Should still do the job at any rate, if it's bamboo, bifolds are what I use in my GK's. Let us know what they tell you. :)
Hmm, I might have to try a D'Lish sewn in then. Do we think more absorbent than Magicalls? Apart from our elastic issues, they were absorbent enough for home and non nap times.
Lol at your dh saying you have Fluffy mail Nettie. :P Mine hides my packages in strange places so I stumble across them, like putting them in the fridge or hiding them behind his back while telling me about his day.
Haha Sammi, perhaps I should start a Cover knitters: The Pretenders (all talk, no action, got the tools and not the talent) thread. :P
Ah, need to go the the loo, and that's as good a reason as any to finish my post! :D
LOL - don't worry about me guys... I didn't realise the GreenKids came without an insert... so the A4 things belonged to the Good Night Sleep Tight nappy. Geez I wish companies would tag their products so I know what goes with what in an order!!!
I've now done an order on NN tonight and have ordered some extra GreenKids inserts to cover myself! ha ha ha - baby brain :baby:
So there's another $130 on nappies... ;) Ordered the giraffe minky!! Can't imagine I'll need much more after this!
WOHB - very wet cushie tushie that needs changing into his night nappy (BBB & Wool cover)
GUDISM - that's great the longies have solved your night nappy woes. (i'm not surprised, just glad you have less laundry to do now!).
NETTIE - i agree, it's hard to know what goes with what! the good night sleep tight comes with so many bits! Hope you find something lovely in giraffe minky to put on your bub.
LIMEY - sorry hon, i didn't get your email at all, such a pain when you spend ages typing, and then lose it in cyberspace! I will ahve a think about narrow crotch, fitted nappies. What kg is your bub now? Are you after high or short rise MCN?
PINK - good on you for having a go at knitting a soaker. I think i goggled "learn how to knit" when i wanted to re-learn the basics. but that was not sufficient to make me knit a soaker!!! What the WAHM's charge for woollies is ok with me, i think they are worth it (to make up for me being unable to follow a knitting pattern).
PINK PALACE - The dye coming out of your longies - that is normal - that is why you wash them separately the first time (to note how much dye comes out) and why in the main, i wash ALL our longies SEPARATELY. The amount of dye coming out in the bucket, has never meant that my bub has blue legs in the morning though!
LANOLISING
You CAN lanolise WITHOUT washing, if you use the SPRAY LANOLIN style of lanolising. e.g sheepish grins at the weewuns. that type of thing. You massage it into the longies with your hands (apparently).
LITTLE SQUIRT
There were several threads on DIY Little Squirt on Essential Baby tonight. Made up from things you can buy at the hardware shop. The woman who wrote the DIY thread is a hairdresser and did it herself (with pics).
ALLIPRALLI
in our local Spotlight, normal price for the PRINTED Little Additions is $12.99 and $8.99 for the plain colours. I ahven' been to the latest sale to know the sale prices. I dread going there because bilby gets bored and riots so i spend all my time entertaining/chasing her/containing her - instead of drooling over quilter's cotton like i want to.
Sewing machine update - am considering Husqvarna Viking 116 in theory - must go and play with one in a shop.
ALIOOPS - are the girls still memerised by the drier? LOL
NELLE - sorry, i misunderstood, i thought you meant FOE, my bad.
FJ - what is the abbreviation LJ at Booroi relate to? is it Llamajama ???
If anyone wants to try making FLONGIES, Fairy fabrics is selling a pattern for them.
WOTBB: Sugarpeas nappy cover with sugarpeas nappy insert and wool night booster.
Good luck Melham! Hope it's soon for you!
I'll be support crew member for my bestie tomorrow at 9am - SO EXCITED!!! (it's a scheduled c-section that's why i know when it is).
Gigi I didn't use it today. must do some washing tomorrow though. I have been busy online today (paid for MPM but announcement hasn't been made yet) and then i had to go and collect our second car and then figure out where the anchor points are. And before I knew it, it is now 12:15 am!!!
So I had better get cracking on heading to bed so I can do lots of washing and grocery shopping and cleaning tomorrow, and I have to keep my eye out for the MPM announcement so I can edit my Sig. Night all
Gigi - oops sorry - Charlotte is unweighed for several months atm lol but I think she must be somewhere between 8 and 10 kg's...she is in a medium everything, mainly because of the rise...She is really thin and long anyhow...will try nd get to a chemist tomorrow and get her weighed :)
will also resend the email tomorrow too when I can type it out again! lol
Thanks for your help hun :) And heaps of luck tomorrow too! Hope all goes well with your friends birth!
I tried out a tots bots cover on Nina last night, and no leaks!! So I'm thinking the BBH wool cover is just a little too small. If only they'd do an xl.
I also had Emily in a fleece cover, and there were no leaks there either. Very happy with that.
nelle - If I had to choose between the 2, I would pick the itti bittis over the magicalls. I've never had a leak with them. And if it's nap time for Emily, then I just boost it with a bamboo booster.
I was telling DH about a LS, he'd never heard of one before, and he got very excited. He forever complaining about how gross it is scraping the poo into the toilet. Honestly, if he had to do it every day he'd get used to it! So that's next on my list of things to buy.
nelle im with jodi go the itti's, there the only nappy that holds up after sophie as been swimming! we leak through blueberries after an hour!!! ittis last for about 3 after swimming!!!
should mention too the lovely melbel fixed my zada night nappy as teh snaps came off after one use, used it again and two fell off this time! so not happy with this nappy (obviously not mels fault) must be something about the material the snaps just dont hold :( what a waste of money
wohb baby kanga
whoot!!!!!!!!
omg lots pf fluffy mail
2 snozywun, my consultant pack, and i got minky material... gonna sew me up a store!!!
i tell everyone get a little squirt!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love mine
